CPR Song List

THE GREAT CPR PLAYLIST

These songs aren’t only some of the biggest hits of all time…
They can also help save a life!

Anyone who’s taken a CPR class has heard that The Bee Gees’ “Stayin’ Alive” is the perfect song for hitting the 100-120 beats per minute required for ideal chest compressions.  But what if disco just isn’t your jam, man?  What if you want your kids to learn CPR, but they refuse to listen to anything that wasn’t created after the dawn of the millennium?  This playlist is your answer!

Performing CPR is hard.  In a life or death situation, most of us struggle just to keep our composure.  That’s why when you attend a CPR course, the rhythm of chest compressions is drummed into your head.

It typically goes a bit something like this:

100-120 beats per minute  ›  practice  ›  100-120 beats per minute  ›  practice  ›  100-120 beats per minute  ›  Ah ha ha ha, Stayin’ Alive, Stayin’ Alive…ad infinitum.

The reason for this is simple.  When the time comes to perform CPR, it needs to be second nature.  This repetition, this biennial education saves lives.  That said, while there have been a few changes to CPR protocols over the years (RIP: ABC’s of CPR), for many of us, the training has gotten a bit stale. It’s time for something fresh.  That’s why we’ve created the Certified CPR playlist on Spotify.

Now that’s what I call lifesaving music:

This playlist has a little something for everybody—Over 50 hits spanning six decades of Rap, Rock, Pop, Country, Electronic, Showtunes, and more!  So give it a listen, find your favorite song, and remember it can help you save a life. It doesn’t matter if you are a 45 year old man belting out “Stronger” by Britney Spears, if you are performing CPR, everyone around will know that you are a hero.

I’m…Confused:

  • Are you wondering why the heck people are singing songs when they perform CPR?
  • Haven’t heard that the steps changed from Airway, Breathing, Circulation to Circulation, Airway, Breathing?
  • Never attended a CPR course in your life!?

It’s time to take a CPR Class!

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is the first line of defense against cardiac arrest, the top cause of death in the world.  When someone’s having a heart attack or has stopped breathing due to drowning or choking, having immediate intervention by a CPR practitioner can be the difference between life or death.  Be ready for an emergency—attend a life-saving CPR class today!
